Admissions Factor System

Practical Nursing Program

 

Admission to the PN Program:



SELECTION OF APPLICANTS:

The following criteria will be used to determine acceptance into the Practical Nursing Program:


A. Grade point average (GPA) of these prerequisite courses:

(ENGL& 101, MATH 99 or higher, PSYC& 100, and BIOL& 175 or BIOL& 241 & 242)


B. Support Courses. Completion of the support courses listed under #2 below.


C. Current Certification as a Nursing Assistant.


D. Rollover application.



FACTORING SYSTEM:

After the materials listed under admission procedure have been received, an admission score will be determined according to the following factor system (8 maximum points possible).


1) Cumulative GPA of Prerequisite Courses


Note: A 2.0 or above must be earned in each prerequisite course.
