MISSION

The mission of the Engineering Transfer Program is to graduate students who are prepared to excel in any four-year Engineering program in the country.

ENGINEERING

Engineering is an exciting field with good pay and job satisfaction. The road to becoming an engineer is not for the faint of heart, or the motivationally challenged. It takes four years of intensive study. The subjects are difficult and the cost is substantial as with all other college programs.

Additional pluses in attending OC are the much smaller class sizes and the relatively short commute times.   You can, however, reduce the cost substantially by doing the first two of those four years at Olympic College: the costs at OC being about half the cost of the University of Washington.

The classes and instructors at OC meet the highest academic standards. Because they do meet such high standards and because of transfer agreements with the four-year Universities in Washington State, any class you take at OC transfers as if you had taken it at the four-year campus.  You should, however, work closely with OC advisors and the engineering advisors at any four-year school to ensure transfer of your course work.

BACHELOR OF SCIENCE in Mechanical Engineering at Olympic College

Washington State University is now offering the last two years of a 4-year Bachelor of Science Degree in Mechanical Engineering at Olympic College- Bremerton.  This program is open to all students that are able to certify into the WSU BSME program.  It is assumed that students who enter the program will have completed the first two years of the program through the AS (Transfer) degree at their local community college.  More information about the courses that a student should complete at any specific community college can be found at http://www.cea.wsu.edu/transferstudents

If you are completing an AST degree and want more information about this program including certification requirements, please visit www.mme.wsu.edu/olympicClick here for the Program Announcement flier in PDF format.
