This program is designed to allow the student to complete all of the required instruction to qualify for the Washington State Cosmetology License examination and at the same time earn an Associate in Technical Arts Degree. This Olympic College program operates under an agreement between Olympic College and the West Sound Technical Skills Center.

For acceptance into the Cosmetology Program, students must submit an online application for admission to Olympic College at http://olympic.edu/Students/GettingStarted/Admissions and attend a program advising session at the College and/or the West Sound Technical Skills Center program site. Prospective students are invited to contact the Program Coordinator at Olympic College (Ms. Gwen Garrett) at the number listed above for additional information. To obtain the Associate in Technical Arts Degree, students must complete all the core requirements associated with the cosmetology program as well as the general academic requirements (e.g. Business Math, English and Human Relations).

All of the program/degree requirements meet the competency standards required by the Washington State Licensing Board for Cosmetologists and the State Board for Community and Technical Colleges. All cosmetology program classes will be held at the Skills Center, which has been licensed by the State of Washington.
