Course Catalog Reports
After each IPC meeting, the catalog curriculum is updated in the Management Information System/Student Management System (MIS/SMS) based upon the effective year/quarter of the course or program transaction(s). After completion, new catalog reports are generated for each quarter in two formats: 1) course coding detail, and 2) course catalog description format. The Instructional Divisions utilize these reports when preparing quarterly schedules and the published catalog.
Course Listings in Catalog
Approved course outline descriptions are included in each Quarterly Class Schedule (View) publication. The Course Catalog contains many components which are updated on an on-going basis via Instructional Policies Council (IPC) action and state requirements. The Course Catalog is composed of:
MIS - Management Information System State reporting database;
Official Olympic College Course Outlines;
Published Catalog; On-Line Catalog;
Professional Programs and Transfer Curriculula.
All Course Catalog records are updated through the Instructional Division offices with review and approval by IPC and the Vice President of Instruction. The IPC Calendar lists the technical timelines for curriculum action, and when approved, into which catalog, curriculum publication will occur.

Recordkeeping and Curriculum listings in the Published Catalog. The Catalog Course Outline Form (see link at right) is utilized by Instructional Divisions for course curriculum add/cancel/change/delete transactions. To request a photocopy of an existing Olympic College Course Outline(s), please email your request (contact person listed above) including the course number(s) and title(s) of your request.
Distribution Requirements List
The Distribution Requirements List identifies which specific classes may be used to meet the distribution area and requirements for degrees and certificates. This list is updated based on Instructional Policies Council (IPC) action and Intercollege Relations Commission requirements (see link at right). The Distribution Requirements List is maintained and updated cooperatively by Instructional Support Services and Registration and Records. (updated 4/23/02) (see link at left)
Professional Technical Programs
All Professional Technical Programs and Transfer Curriculula are developed within the Instructional Divisions. The Professional Technical Program approval process requires the Dean for Workforce Development to obtain State Board for Community and Technical Colleges (SBCTC) approval for any new and proposed vocational programs under development and for changes to existing programs. After SBCTC approval the final program is submitted to IPC. After IPC approval, the Olympic College vocational inventory is updated. The Vocational Programs and Transfer Curriculum Form (see link at right) is utilized by the Instructional Divisions for course curriculum add/cancel/change/delete transactions. For a current list of Professional Technical Certificates & Degrees or Outcomes, see links at right. (Updated 7/31/01)
