Training, Development & Opportunities

Classified Staff Development

Classified Staff Development Committee has many activities, such as brown bag luncheons and training sessions; and P/T hourly employees are encouraged to participate. Once a year, one day is set aside for an off campus "Classified Connection" for all classified staff. Part-time employees may take advantage of workshops and training offered by the college. The full use of the library is also available. Olympic College recognizes the importance of on-going training, retraining, and professional development of all staff in order to enhance knowledge and skill. P/T employees are encouraged to take advantage of opportunities to gain the skills necessary for successful performance of job duties and upward mobility.
Orientation
Supervisors are primarily responsible for the orientation of the part-time employee. Human Resource Services is available for additional assistance.
Tuition Waiver for Regular Employees
Olympic College will waive the cost of up to 5 credits for most individuals employed by the College. The course(s) must be related to the employee's professional development plan and be approved by the employee's supervisor. Forms can be found in the CSC or from the Human Resource Services Office on the 5th floor. IT/Lab and other fees still apply.
