Getting Started--Distance Learning

First Time Distance Learning (DL) Students:

Step 1  Is distance learning right for you?
Step 2  Questions to ask before taking distance learning? 

•  What is: an online class?  | a portable course? | a telecourse? 
• Technology Requirements?
• How to get comfortable with online learning?

Step 3 New student orentation (can be done online)
Step 4 Taking math or English classes? Get assesed before registering or you will be delayed! 
Step 5 Meet with an Educational Advisor  (Ensure that you can get into classes and graduate on time!)

Continuing Students and New Students (who have completed Steps 1 to 5)

Step 6  Registration for new, continuing and former students in online courses
Step 7  After you have registered
Step 8  Find your class start date (lists above) and Login early!  (5 business days before the 1st day of class)
Step 9 Logging into online classes
Step 10 Get your textbooks early!  Alow time for shipping! 

• Purchase books at the on-campus OC Bookstore or online
• Some textbooks are only available through Washington Online (see WAOL Help link below)
• Instructor and class material information may also be available at Professors Online
• Alternative ways to get textooks.
