Civilian Pass and Id
Civilians may be given access to Kitsap Naval bases to attend Olympic College. Anyone with a valid military id will not need any special permissions.
Civilian Instructions
1. Register for the class held on the Naval base first.
2. Contact the OC Military Education Office as soon as you register for the class or at least 1 week prior to the start of the quarter.
3. Names of all students enrolled 1 week prior to the quarter start are submitted to the Security /Pass & Id Office the Monday before the quarter begins. Students registering after that day, will be added after the student contacts the Military Education Office requesting to be added to the list.
4. Bring your Temporary ID and photo ID every time to show at the gate.
If you intend to take a vehicle on base in order to get to class, you must have the vehicle registration and proof of insurance with you when you pick up your temporary Pass & Id and every time you travel on base.
Please be aware that persons and vehicles traveling on base are subject to security search at any time. Civilians without temporary id and not on the official Olympic College class list will be denied access. So, plan ahead and allow sufficient time for delays at the gate and still arrive at the classroom on time.
If you have any questions or feedback about the base security process, please contact the Military Education Office directly and not your instructor or base Security. Note that civilian base access can be restricted or denied at any time by Navy Security. Olympic College will make every effort to contact students if heightened security conditions result in access restrictions or changes to class locations.
