If you wish to know more about the general context in which your artist worked, you can consult the catalog for history and culture books to supplement your reading.

History (general or cultural) is found under country name, subdivided chronologically.

Works found here are going to be primarily broadly historical and will provide basic cultural information.

Also, if you find references in your reading that you need brief explanations for, we can provide you with historical and cultural dictionaries that will sort out the meanings of groups, events, people, and movements.
