by the Haselwood Library Faculty (Oct. 2004)
Introduction
Finding information about artists and their work is a process that includes many steps. The outline over the next few pages is intended to be a guide to beginning your research, but it may not answer your specific questions. Ask a librarian for help.
Encyclopedias and Dictionaries
Encyclopedias, dictionaries, and handbooks offer background reading. Consult them to get a better grasp on an unfamiliar topic, or to look up facts and summaries.
